Testicular Sperm Extraction

(TESE)

Testicular Sperm Extraction (TESE) is typically conducted under general anesthesia or sometimes light sedation. It’s commonly recommended for individuals who didn’t yield any sperm during a PESA procedure or for those who lack sperm in their ejaculate.

Testicular Sperm Extraction

(TESE)

Testicular Sperm Extraction (TESE) is a medical procedure used to retrieve sperm cells directly from the testes. This procedure becomes necessary when sperm cells are absent in the semen, the fluid where sperm typically resides. TESE may be recommended if:

  1. Your testes fail to produce enough sperm cells in your semen.
  2. A blockage prevents sperm cells from exiting your penis during ejaculation, a condition that hinders the release of semen after orgasm.
  3. You have specific medical conditions affecting sperm production or transportation.

For men facing these challenges, in vitro fertilization (IVF) with intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) emerges as an effective pathway to achieve conception. Should TESE yield a sufficient quantity of viable sperm cells, they can be cryopreserved for potential use in future ICSI procedures.
